Manufacturing Facility
Monmouth Rubber & Plastics' Long Branch manufacturing facility
is designed to supply material on a world scale. Its manufacturing
equipment and processes are designed to make Monmouth competitive
on a quality and cost level with manufacturers of similar products
anywhere in the world.
Land & Building
Monmouth Rubber & Plastics' facility consists of 33,000 sq.ft.
of manufacturing space as well as approximately 15,000 sq.ft.
of warehouse space. In addition, a 2,000 sq.ft. product testing
and shock attenuation lab and approximately 2,500 sq.ft. of office
space is located at this facility.
Machinery
Monmouth Rubber operates a complete machine shop for the building
and rebuilding of machinery, tools, and dies. Monmouth has modern
state-of-the-art production equipment including:
- Internal Banbury type mixers (2) for processing both rubber
& plastic.
- 60" and 84" mills for mixing and calendering both rubber &
plastic.
- 6", 8", 10" and 12" Farrell extruders with sheet head dies
and pelletizing head dies for processing both rubber & plastic.
- Large ram, high tonnage presses for the curing of solid and
cellular materials
- Curing ovens as large as 10 ft. high by 8 ft. wide by 30 ft.
long
- an extensive selection of fabrication equipment such as Splitters,
Die Cutters, Coaters, Laminators, and Stripping equipment.
Utilities
Water: supplied by N.J. American Water Company.
Sewer: supplied by the Long Branch Sewer Authority.
Electricity: Primary power transformed on site to 2500 amps.
Natural Gas: bought wholesale at the well head.
Environmental: Monmouth is in compliance with all local, state,
and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Monmouth
has been inspected and approved by all respective agencies.
Present Capacity
Present Installed Machinery Capacity: 10,000,000 bd. ft. per year
Additional Capacity being installed: 12,000,000 bd. ft. per year
Total Capacity for Phase 1 Goal: 22,000,000 bd. ft. per year
Physical Test Lab
Monmouth Rubber has a fully equipped physical testing lab capable
of running most of the physical property tests required by ASTM,
DINS, ANSI, ISO, SAE as well as customer specifications such as
Ford, GM, Honda and many other world scale manufacturers. Specialized
testing is done under contract with outside approved testing labs.
Monmouth is approved by the U.S. Government under a variety of QPL
products such as Mil-R-6855.
Memberships
Monmouth Rubber and Plastics is an active member of the American
Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and contributes to the writing
of many of the ASTM standards and specifications used worldwide.
Monmouth also has active memberships with the:
- National Institute of Packaging, Handling and Logistics Engineers
(NIPHLE)
- Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE)
- American Chemical Society-Rubber Division
- Gasket Fabricators Association (GFA)
- Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP)
